Team GOREgeous and Komen CAN AZ

Although the Susan G. Komen foundation in Central and Northern Arizona has recently changed its name to more accurately reflect the area it serves, their focus has not changed. This year, we are proud to be joining the Walk for the Cure on October 13. Although there are many “fun” races and other wonderful causes that have walks in Phoenix, we decided as Team GOREgeous to do the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure because of the impact breast cancer has had in the lives of our patients as well as in our own personal lives.

Some of you may have noticed that Tricia cut her hair recently. Lynn also cut her hair at the end of last year. While both women have donated over ten inches of their hair on previous occasions, it was the first time that Tricia’s daughter donated almost fourteen inches of her hair to Locks of Love! The donated hair is made into wigs that are given to children, in both the US and in Canada, who are suffering from long-term hair loss due to medical conditions or treatments, including cancer.
